About UsTIny Volcano was born when Scott McPherson asked a few close friends to help him record some songs that he had written over the years. So, Jon Ecklund (guitar), Tony Cooper (bass/vocals) and Dana Sims (drums) joined in. And, as this was to be a casual project, the recording process took about a year. The debut CD was released in October of 2003 to rave reviews.

Who We Are |
Scott McPherson is a singer/songwriter from Tacoma, Washington. He has worked on numerous projects since the debut of Tiny Volcano. Those projects include, Sproutless (an homage to Prefab Sprout), with 3 albums total. McPherson/Grant, with collaborator Jamie Grant (album due out in 2018), A Liar's Club reunion album and more recently a writers collaboration group called "Pop 4" -which features Andrea Perry, KC Bowman and Kirk Adams.
Jon Ecklund is a guitarist, writer, singer from Tacoma, WA. In fact, Jon and Scott are next door neighbors -and have been for years. Jon has been busy with various groups since the TV debut, including the band GE5. Dana Sims is a drummer/percussionist from Seattle, WA. Dana plays with various bands -including Vanilla, but his main gig is with the band Witchburn. Tony Cooper was a very dear friend and an outrageously bad-ass bass player. Sadly he passed away a few years ago after a long struggle with cancer. In addition to his bass contribution to the TV debut album he was also a talented singer/song writer and guitar player. Tony sang the lead on the mercy beat styled "You Wanna Go". In April of 2013 we decided to add the final two songs that Tony had written and co-written, sang and performed on - to the Liar's Club reunion album "Come & Go". The songs "Emily" and Obsession" both featuring the original members of Tiny Volcano with the exception of Joey Viola on drums. Joey Viola is a drummer/percussionist from Puyallup, WA. Joey was brought in to the band by his long time friend and ex-bandmate Tony Cooper. They had toured together in the band Redd Axe, having opened for the likes of The Romantics and many other high profile bands of the 80's. |
